Xorcom BRI ISDN Module

In order to fulfill the modern telephony requirements in organizations, various telephony interfaces have been introduced. Xorcom BRI ISDN Module is one such digital telephony interface, which is now used in various commercial enterprises. This interface is used to connect to the legacy PBX, telephony provider or ISDN telephoner sets. Xorcom BRI ISDN Module provides power supply for ISDN telephonic sets. For each BRI port, there are two basic configurations such as NT (Network) connects to ISDN phones and TE (Terminal) connects to telephony provider or legacy PBX (as PSTN ISDN trunks). These configurations help in better call management within the business enterprises.

Xorcom BRI module provides support to four configurations such as 2 ports (dual BRI) supporting 4 channels, 4 ports (quad BRI) supporting 8 channels, 6 ports supporting 12 channels and 8 ports (quad-port BRI) supporting 16 channels. Hence, any kind of connectivity requirements can be fulfilled without any trouble as a variety of options are available. LED status indication is provided for each port including NT/TE status, which make the user aware regarding the changing functions. Line status (no activity, layer 1 active, layer 2 active) and Active setting (TE or NT) are indicated by status LED.

The port can be set to either NT or TE mode by dip-switches of the modules. Xorcom BRI module is provided in the compact 10" units or in Astribank full size (1U) chassis, which can be used as per the requirements of entrepreneurs. In a single Astribank or Xorcom IP-PBX unit, one BRI module (with up to eight BRI ports) can be installed without any trouble. Further, to determine the best configuration, the on-line Product Configuration wizard must be used. These modules are available in combined unit with analog ports. Installing these modules requires minimum technical effort and it can be done by referring the product manual.
